SLOW AND STEADY (FOR 3,000 MILES) WINS THE RACE

03/10/2021

There are endurance races, and then there are ENDURANCE races! It’s billed as “The World’s Toughest Row” and you’ll get no argument from us. On December 14, a group of determined athletes will set out from La Gomera in the Canary Islands and head for English Harbor, Antigua.

By rowboat.

And it’s 3,000 nautical miles away.

And everything they need – food, water, medical supplies, sun protection, water skis (kidding) – will have to go with them.

If you’ve got a couple months of vacation to spare (and you’re in tip-top shape), you might want to join them. The event is officially called the 2016 Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge, and it is without doubt one of the most daunting feats of endurance ever conceived.

At Aries Worldwide Logistics, we are proud supporters of the home team. Michael Matson, David Alviar, and Brian Krauskopf (all native Houstonians) will cross the Atlantic east to west in a 22 foot, carbon fiber ocean racing hull. The three, dubbed the American Oarsmen, are shooting for three records on their epic traverse.

  • The first Texans to row an ocean
  • The first three-man boat to row across the Atlantic, and
  • The fastest Atlantic crossing by an American rowing boat (less than 45 days)

Aries Worldwide Logistics will be with the American Oarsmen every step of the way. For over 30 years, we have excelled in successfully handling time-sensitive shipments by air, sea, truck, and rail – door to door or door to port, anywhere in the world. With a comprehensive list of licenses, certifications and memberships, Aries will efficiently pack, crate and ship your cargo while assuring it is in compliance with all regulations and carries all required documentation. Our different is personal.
