10/28/2022

Meet Genna Schaefer

After 30 years in the logistics industry, Genna Schaefer decided to make the career leap into her role as Imports Manager at Aries Worldwide Logistics. She started with the company in March of 2022 and has made significant progress in just under a year. “What initially drew me to Aries was their commitment to excellence and long support of the local community”, Schaefer says  “Aries has a strong presence in US Imports and logistics so it was a perfect fit for my experience. I’m grateful to be able to be a part of it and excited to see how the department grows!”

Along with being an industry leader, Aries provides a healthy work-life balance for its employees and promotes an active lifestyle, which Schaefer explains has positively impacted her life outside of work.

“Genna has demonstrated her leadership skills with her import team. Her ability to transfer her understanding of our internal processes to her team has started to produce positive results.” Russ Schamun – COO / Aries Worldwide Logistics

What’s new in the international imports department?

As the year ends, the department's goal has remained the same – focusing on coordinating successful shipments with the fastest deliveries. There are many components to a successful imports department but Schaefer has a plan in mind to get there. She explains “The department will continue to maintain growth and support customers’ global needs as the supply chain market recovers to the new normal.”

Aries's flexibility and endurance have created a strong platform for this department's continued development. The Imports team is dedicated to industry excellence and personal commitment.

“I am very fortunate to be a part of this amazing team and I wanted to give a special shout-out to Jennifer Molloy, Paola Cornejo, and Justin Rickerman!” - Genna Schaefer

Everything the department is capable of is possible due to our Customs Brokerage Department (CBP) and US Customs and Border Protection. As explained here, the CBP Strategy 2020–2025 is focused on twelve strategic initiatives that will advance CBP’s ability to accomplish this mission. To reach our goals and better accomplish our daily tasks, CBP must improve existing capabilities, develop new ones for the changing operational environment, and adapt our processes to better organize, train, equip and sustain our frontline operators.
